First of all, Yes we got a reservation!! This place is well known for not getting a reservation as there is a long queue to actually get into the restaurant. Another interesting fact, Zomato has ranked it as the best restaurant in Mumbai, hands down! I was really looking forward to trying this place and finally the weekend arrived when I could enter this place.
We all have tried various cuisines in many breathtaking venues but experiencing Mirchi and Mime had really made me think twice about hospitality. The menu is interesting and elaborate and there is some amazing unique use of different ingredients as well. So, keep a close eye on those. The waiters or if I may say ‘hosts’ for our lunch were really special people. The deaf and dumb people. As not all of us understand sign language, we were welcomed by them with the help of other vocal people.

It was nice to learn a few gestures of our own like ‘ Thank you’ and ‘ Welcome ‘. The menu card was designed in a way where you can communicate with them using sign language.
As I mentioned earlier, this restaurant has been rated as the highest ranking restaurant in terms of food quality, service, and ambiance in Mumbai. We had ordered the usual Indian cuisine but it was so good that we couldn’t stop ourselves from completing the dish even though our tummies had given up.
The waiters are so well trained that you do not have to repeat yourself or you might end up with something you did not order. The drinks menu is also elaborate and one has a wide variety to choose from.
A small tip: Many of my friends have not yet been able to try this place as it’s always booked. It’s a good idea to book in advance before traveling to Powai.
Looking forward to trying this place again.
